Central Connect 209 (08.12.2025)

An interesting day with Central Connect saw a load of Mercs on the 90, not helped by 328, one of the usual MMC's, failing early on the route, and an MMC in the form of 305 out on one of the Novus Direct services post its work on the 517, later swapped for another MMC in the form of 330 for the afternoon run. 209, the sole Vectare silver 18 plate Merc, now Central Connect branded, is unusually seen in Nottingham on Beastmarkey Hill ready to do the next 90 to Fernwood.

Central Connect 129 (15.12.2025)

During a lot driver changes on Central Connect's services, the auxiliary fleet come out to play instead of the drivers hotfooting it to their designated service. 129, a Citroën in some shape or form, is seen in Bingham having attended 218, a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter EVM Cityline, for a driver swap on the 90.

Central Connect 228 (15.12.2025)

The new one...

228, a brand new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter EVM Cityline, is seen in Bingham with a 93 to Grantham whilst one of its older counterparts in the form of ex-Ting branded 216, now in its Vectare silver livery inherited by Central Connect, is seen behind it with a 93 to Nottingham.

Central Connect 215 (15.12.2025)

Set down only...

215 rests at the non-passenger bus stop in Fernwood between journeys on the 90.

Central Connect 328 (15.12 2025)

A strange flip from today was the use of a Merc Sprinter minibus on one of the 90's with this MMC out on the 92, as illustrated here. 328 is seen on Canal Street ready to arrive into Broadmarsh Bus Station with a 92 to Newark Northgate.

Northern Trains Limited 158756 (06.12.2025)

Nice to see a three car unit on something different for a change as these are often found on Wigan diagrams for example, so to see one at Nottingham is a rarity! 158756 leaves Nottingham on the 14:18 service to Leeds.

Northern Trains Limited 158794/158853 (06.12.2025)

Northern appear to have strengthened some Saturday services to three or four cars from the usual two for some reason, not that I'm complaining with a pair of 158's snapped from today, which I thought were East Midlands Railway ones until they came closer when I then realized that they were Northern ones! 158794 is seen on departure at Nottingham with the 11:17 service to Leeds with 158853 on the rear.

Northern Trains Limited 158787 (06.12.2025)

Before my break for breakfast, there was time to catch one of Northern's 158's beforehand, as illustrated here. 158787 is seen at Nottingham with a service from Leeds. In the end, after working the 07:18 service to Leeds, this unit was replaced by 195002 in preparation for its later on coupling to 195001 for the 15:09 service to Nottingham.

Northern Trains Limited 158870 (06.12.2025)

Four ex-ScotRail 158's are operating with Northern since being surplus to requirement on Scotland's network and I like how Northern have kept the new headlights that ScotRail put on originally in place of the older ones, which can otherwise be found on most of Northern's fleet. 158870 is seen arriving at Nottingham on a service from Leeds.

Northern Trains Limited 150222 (06.12.2025)

No units the same all round on the Northern services today!

150222 is seen at Nottingham bringing in a service from Leeds.

Cross Country 220008 (06.12.2025)

Whilst it's predominantly the class 170's that make the Nottingham Station appearances, the Voyager fleet make various appearances, mostly with one early doors, as illustrated here. 220008 is seen leaving Nottingham on an empty coaching stock move to Derby to start a Cross Country service to Bournemouth, which today was unable to start from Nottingham due to a shortage of train managers.

East Midlands Railway 222009 (06.12.2025)

The trains the Auroras will replace are still running in full swing on the Midland Mainline, so they're worth getting whilst they're about before a majority of them head for Lumo and rumors maybe ScotRail too but only time will tell! 222009 is seen at Nottingham waiting to form a service to London St Pancras.

East Midlands Railway 810010 (06.12.2025)

Aurora day 4...

810010 is seen at Nottingham as it departs with the very late running 13:12 service to London St Pancras, which today was bypassing the stops at Beeston, East Midlands Parkway, Market Harborough and Kettering due to its previous late running on the inbound service caused by a person being hit by a train near Market Harborough.

DB Cargo UK 66127/66150 (06.12.2025)

Operating on behalf of GBRF, 66127 in EWS livery and 66150 in DB red livery slowly crawl their way through platform 1 at Nottingham Station as they work the sandite from Toton North Junction-Sandiacre Ballast Sidings.

DB Cargo UK 66200 (06.12.2025)

Red shed on the blues...

66200 in its Railway 200 livery is seen leaving Nottingham after a driver change with a rake of blue bogie tanks loaded with oil bound for Kingsbury from Humber.

DB Cargo UK 66656 (03.12.2025)

Seen preparing to head away from Nottingham Station after a driver change with the Wolves-Boston empty steel coils.

DB Cargo UK 66094 (03.12.2025)

Shedding the empties...

66094 is seen at Nottingham with the late running Kingsbury-Humber return empty tanks.

Romic 43122/43094 (operated by Rail Adventure) (03.12.2025)

A first for me was the sighting of the new Romic HST, which consists of ex-LNER power cars and ex-Cross Country rolling stock made up into an eight carriage consist, as illustrated here. 43122 and 43094 are seen at Nottingham on a move from the Mid-Norfolk Railway-Chaddesden Sidings.

East Midlands Railway 222009 (03.12.2025)

Livery identity crisis...

222009 in the interim livery but with an odd door from 222104 in the full livery is seen at Nottingham prior to working the 12:12 service to London St Pancras.

East Midlands Railway 222104 (03.12.2025)

Whilst the class 810 was the main event from today, I was happy to have caught up with the multiple diesel 222 in its full purple livery! 222104 rests at Nottingham having brought in a service from London St Pancras.

East Midlands Railway 810010 (03.12.2025)

The first bi-mode Aurora entered passenger traffic on the Midland Mainline, which operated services mostly to and from Sheffield with a diagram to Nottingham and back to the Capital also included. 810010 is seen having arrived at Nottingham from London St Pancras before enjoying a nice break before then departing on the 19:13 service to London St Pancras.

East Midlands Railway 810008 (03.12.2025)

Seen at Nottingham Station on a test working from Derby-London St Pancras.
