You could ask why these Optare Solos are classed as Y regs and it is because their registration plates start with a Y. These buses are the exception to the rule as the newer branded Optare Solo SR's for Bridgford Bus are classed as 12 plates because their registration plates have two numbers after two letters, whereas this bus here has three numbers after one letter. What do the three numbers mean here then? It means it's 238 here and it was this bus that was my lucky chariot home for the day! 238 is seen here coming to a stop at Victoria Centre bus stop on Carrington Street in order to pick me up while on a 9 to Wilford Hill.
