East Midlands Railway 43320/43316 (04.05.2020)

The first of the former London North Eastern Railway/Virgin Trains East Coast red HST's made its debut in revenue earning service for East Midlands Railway today. I wasn't able to see it but Railcam did manage to upload something onto their YouTube channel though. I guess this will have to do for now and it was caught from camera 1 at Chesterfield as you can imagine and it sees 43320 and 43316 head past working a service to London St Pancras International from Leeds under head code 1C15. These sets are to replace the older stock on the Midland Mainline due to disability access regulations being in force although they may well be withdrawn by the end of this year. Nice to see HST's still running on the Midland Mainline mind. I guess East Midlands Railway decided to tease us with the London North Eastern Railway/Virgin Trains East Coast buffet car of 40751 after all. The taster sure worked too! Now we welcome a new HST and I suppose the future's bright and the future's red now!
