While First Great Western decided not to use class 180's after March 2009 when the last one ended service before moving to Hull Trains just like the others, they decided to use them again from 2012 up until 2017 consisting of former Northern variations. As there were less 180's than HST's though when the bi-mode Hitachi replacements began despite these being newer than the HST's, these were fully withdrawn first as a result and subsequently moved to Grand Central to replace the six car HST sets which subsequently moved to what was East Midlands Trains originally. Here, an unidentified 180 heads through Sonning on the approach to Reading with a service from London Paddington.
