A four car 222 may seem very short for use on London services but they are generally used on them. I will say that for busy trips to London that four car 222 Meridians can get full and standing because of how short they are but when it's less busy, it's easier to move around inside the train. What beats me is that 8 car HST's usually do the fast services to London Monday-Saturday, with five car Meridians on the slow services Monday-Saturday, with the exception of a four car Meridian on the slow services Monday-Friday. The 4 car Meridian here on the slow London St Pancras services was 222102, seen here arriving at Nottingham Station with a terminating service from the capital, the service not even packed on arrival.
