Originally there was only one route to Gamston with NCT in the 7 but when the Optare Solos came in, a second route to Gamston in the 5 was introduced and the route has been retained since the conversions on the Bridgford Bus network from the Optare Solos to the Optare Solo SR's and then the Optare Solo SR's to the ADL Enviro 200 MMC's. 309, the short wheelbase ADL Enviro 200 MMC, now heads on Melton Road with a 5 to Gamston.
