After arriving to Trent Barton in 2017, this 17 plate spare along with its sister in 110 were mainly restricted to the Mainline and Skylink Nottingham routes once the 18 plate MMC's for the Indigo plus the two spares arrived to the company in 2018. 109 is seen on Bridgford Road with a Mainline to Nottingham.
