While I think one or two 156's came in from Norwich, on one occasion today, two 156's were to be seen pairing up on the 10:47 Liverpool Lime Street service, as here illustrates. 156403 and 156498, two refurbished 156's, one partly and one fully, wait at Nottingham Station before then forming the 10:47 service to Liverpool Lime Street.
