While on the 7 going over Trent Bridge, I noticed two double-decker boats make their way on the River Trent with river cruises, so I couldn't resist taking a photo! Here, The Trent Lady is seen heading towards Trent Bridge on the River Trent, with the Nottingham Princess following behind about to go through Lady Bay Bridge. Photo taken on 30.10.2017.
Nottingham City Transport 385 (30.09.2017)
Along with Bridgford Bus Optare Solo SR 355 being on Green 11, a couple of spares were also in use on there, including this new style spare liveried ADL Enviro 200. 385 is seen here waiting at the lights on Radcliffe Road with an 11 to City Loop. Sorry for the slightly poor shot here as Nottingham Forest fans were making their way to the nearby City Ground for a home match against Sheffield Wednesday.
Nottingham City Transport 376 (30.09.2017)
Along with green spare ADL Enviro 200 377 being on the 8, this green spare ADL Enviro 200 was also on Bridgford Bus and it was a day on 7's for this one, as here illustrates, meaning two Saturday services were taken up by the two green spare ADL Enviro 200's of 376 and 377. 376 is seen here just departing Central Avenue with a 7 to Gamston. Although the 9 during the weekday usually seems to end up with most of the spares when needed, Saturday actually usually sees the 7 end up with them when needed.
Nottingham City Transport 377 (30.09.2017)
Owing to Bridgford Bus Optare Solo SR 355 being on the 11 and Bridgford Bus Optare Solo SR 356 being out of action, a couple of nice upgrades to Bridgford Bus saw two green ADL Enviro 200 spares out on the road. 377 is one such bus, seen here about to enter Central Avenue with an 8 to Wilford Hill.

An unusual working here saw a 4 car class 222 on the Leicester-Lincoln local stopping service, providing an upgrade to the usual 2 car units normally found on the route. 222103 unusually waits on platform 7B at Nottingham Station with a service to Lincoln Central. One reason this train had moved onto platform 7B was due to a Worksop service being taken up on the usual platform 1B, where services to Lincoln Central normally arrive. The other reason this moved onto platform 7B was in preparation for a Norwich service to arrive on platform 3C, the usual alternative platform for services to Lincoln Central. This service had arrived late, hence a platform alteration, in this case to platform 7B, was required.
Nottingham City Transport 370 (29.09.2017)
While travelling to college on the 5, a purple line Enviro 200 surprisingly turned up on the 11! 370 waits to turn right onto the tramlines at the bottom of Arkwright Street with an 11 to Lady Bay via The Meadows. This bus was eventually swapped for what I think was spare Scania OmniTown 202. Sorry for the blurred shot here, not helped by the number 5 bus moving!

Here is a shot of Virgin Trains East Coast liveried buffet car 40805 at Nottingham Station while on hire to East Midlands Trains. This buffet car was swapped for Virgin Trains East Coast buffet car 40751, meaning this buffet car moved to set NL65, a former East Midlands Trains set now with Virgin Trains East Coast, while the buffet car of 40751, which was in the set, went in the opposite direction. This buffet car now carries Hull decals, promoting Hull's City of Culture 2017, unlike in this photo, when it was just in its normal livery.
Photo taken at Nottingham Station on 23.02.2016.
Nottingham City Transport 377 (28.09.2017)
Here is a bigger photo of ADL Enviro 200 377 in Nottingham's Old Market Square on Navy 3 awaiting its next journey to Clifton. In the end, on the smaller photo I posted of this, I accidentally typed in the wrong date this was took on, hence this bigger photo here.
Nottingham City Transport 376 (28.09.2017)
Alongside the Y reg plate Optare Solos of 237 and 238, a green spare Enviro 200 was also in use on the 11's, which during the day only saw one branded Optare Solo SR! Here, 377 waits outside Debenhams in Nottingham's Old Market Square while on an 11 to Lady Bay. In the end, although I did see branded Optare Solo SR 331, it was out of service when I did, so no wonder the 11 had three spares in use on there!
Nottingham City Transport 237 (28.09.2017)
Another nice find on the 11 was the other Y reg plate Optare Solo. Here, Optare Solo 237 is seen outside Broadmarsh Centre with an 11 to Nottingham. The current car park here will soon become a thing of the past as it is now being demolished ahead of the redevelopment of Broadmarsh Centre itself.
Nottingham City Transport 238 (28.09.2017)
The 11 was a good place to find the Y reg plate Optare Solo buses as both of the remaining buses in the fleet made appearances on there! Here, Optare Solo 238 departs Broadmarsh, Collin St with an 11 to Lady Bay via the Meadows. Both Y reg plate spare Solos were fitted with allover adverts, this one being for Kam Servicing, the largest independent garage chain in the Midlands.
Nottingham City Transport 382 (28.08.2017)
Following on from the surprise find of GO2 Uni 31 Optare Solo SR 350 on the 9, another oddity turned up in the shape of a Brown Line Enviro 200 on Navy 3! Here, 382 unusually waits in Nottingham's Old Market Square, before taking up its next journey to Clifton.
Nottingham City Transport 375 (28.09.2017)
Alongside GO2 Uni 31 Optare Solo SR 350, a green spare Enviro 200 was also in use on the 9's, providing a nice upgrade to the route compared to the Bridgford Bus branded Optare Solo SR's. Here, 375 waits outside Debenhams to turn onto Angel Row in Nottingham's Old Market Square with a 9 to Wilford Hill via Central Avenue and Compton Acres whilst covering for the slightly older native Optare Solo SR. Apologies for the slightly iffy shot. The Sun was even very bright here.
Nottingham City Transport 350 (28.08.2017)
A surprise oddity here on Bridgford Bus was a GO2 Uni 31 Optare Solo SR on the 9, even when Nottingham Trent University was already back on after its summer break! Here, 350 unusually covers for a 12 plate Bridgford Bus Optare Solo SR on the 9, seen here departing Broadmarsh, Collin St with a service to Wilford Hill via Central Avenue and Compton Acres.

East Midlands Trains 158889 (27.09.2017)
Having been transferred to East Midlands Trains in 2015, this 158 had been operating for East Midlands Trains in the South West Trains livery for just over two years, that is until now as it has just been given a fresh lick of paint and is now in the East Midlands Trains livery. Here, 158889 is seen at Nottingham Station, awaiting departure on the 12:47 service to Liverpool Lime Street, calling at Ilkeston, Alfreton, Chesterfield, Sheffield, Stockport, Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Oxford Road, Warrington Central, Widnes, Liverpool South Parkway and Liverpool Lime Street. 158810 was at the rear of the train, which came in from Norwich as a two car service. As per the norm, Norwich services come into Nottingham, usually as a two car 158, before a four car train, usually in the form of two 158's, is formed at Nottingham Station, after which the four car train goes to Liverpool Lime Street.

Here is one such bus I saw on 26.09.2017 and it is an unusual working here because the 5 during the day usually sees the Bridgford Bus branded Optare Solo SR's allocated. To see a Scania Omnitown on here is a rarity! Here, Scania Omnitown 203 is seen in the Old Market Square about to get ready to turn onto Angel Row whilst unusually operating the Bridgford Bus 5 to Gamston whilst deputising for a Bridgford Bus branded Optare Solo SR.
Monday, 25 September 2017
These are some of the Nottingham City Transport buses I saw in Nottingham's Old Market Square on 25.09.2017. These mostly feature spare buses. At the top is new style spare ADL Enviro 200 385, seen on an 8 to Wilford Hill whilst deputising for a 12 plate branded Bridgford Bus Optare Solo SR. Pictured below it is ADL Enviro 400 CBG City spare 427 on a 10 to Ruddington, a route which also had two branded counterparts swapping round. Below that is ADL Enviro 200 376 on an 11 to Lady Bay, while below that is Scania OmniTown 207, also on an 11 to Lady Bay. The reason for the two spares making appearances on the 11 was not only as cover for one branded Green 11 Optare Solo SR Green 11 but also because another branded Green 11 Optare Solo SR made its way onto the 7 for the afternoon, the bottom picture of which features Green 11 Optare Solo SR 334 on the route, in this case to Gamston, after taking over from Bridgford Bus branded Optare Solo SR 359. The second from bottom photo features new style spare Optare Solo SR 344 and it can be seen pictured terminating in while on a 3, the dedicated route for the spare bus itself, so will predominantly be used on there.

Introduction
Hi
This is going to be a blog that contains words/pictures/videos that describe my observations of public transport in and around Nottingham (with occasional excursions to other places!). I hope it gives the reader an understanding of the many different ways to travel in Nottingham and my own thoughts on the same.
