East Midlands Railway 43274 (28.09.2020)
No stranger to the Midland Mainline this as before moving to East Coast and after operating on the Great Western Mainline, this HST power car could be seen operating for Midland Mainline, first in teal green and then dark green and possibly as a Valenta before being re-engined to a VP185, before it continued operation under the East Midlands Trains brand and eventually in the new Stagecoach livery. It then moved to the East Coast Mainline where it operated services for East Coast, first as a VP185 before being MTU'd and repainted, before then continuing operation under Virgin Trains East Coast, first in previous operator's livery and then Virgin Trains East Coast livery, after which it then continued operation London North Eastern Railway. Following introduction of the new Azuma fleet, the HST's ended service on the East Coast Mainline before the end of last year. As a result, East Midlands Railway have acquired some sets from the company and while only two red sets are currently in service, a healthy amount of red power cars are in service and 43274, complete in part Virgin Trains East Coast red livery and plain red livery, is now one of the most recent power cars to enter service and it is seen here at Nottingham waiting to depart on an ECS move before the move then finally commences, the whole set after having been replaced by 222102 in an emergency substitution. Worth noting that 43274 still retains its triple light clusters, it along with fellow power car 43272 which had a similar life to this and I can imagine no doubt we will see 43272 operate on the Midland Mainline before too soon!
