Following on the increase in capacity on EMR's Intercity network, two of the seven car 222's, 222005 and 222006, were reduced to five cars to allow for those coaches to be placed into the original four car units, 222101-222104, in order to strengthen them to five cars. 222104, now as a full livery since the odd interim liveried coach was made purple to match the rest of the train, is seen at Nottingham with its next run being a service to Luton, where the train would terminate due to engineering works between there and London St Pancras.
