Trains in Sonning Cutting (19.06.2018)

Well then, new trains and old trains on the Great Western Mainline and here are a huge load of small shots from some of the day's action in Sonning Cutting, where services are seen by Great Western Railway and freight from DB Cargo UK.
On terms of the overall visit here, I must say that it was a good one, with a decent variety in traction including the 165's, 166's, 387's, HST's, 800's all from Great Western Railway and freight including two DB Cargo UK 66's and a 59, also from DB Cargo UK. Green HST's were to be seen in this one as well as mix and match sets and even all three of Great Western Railway's green sets, one reduced to seven cars from eight, were to be seen. Celebrity power cars included Queen's 90th 43027, Welshman 43188, Old Oak Common 43093 and 43185 in a proper Intercity Swallow livery. No Harry Patch in the form of 43172 or Sir Kenneth Grange in the form of 43002 in an old Intercity 125 livery but there you go. Also worth noting that 800305, a nine car class 800, has recently made it into passenger operations and was to be seen today, so there you go.
