East Midlands Railway 43238/43318 (08.05.2020)

The flying tomato returns!

The second red power cars to enter service were 43238 and 43318. It is lucky that Railcam has been on hand capturing these workings for YouTube etc., such as on Chesterfield camera 1. 43238, the former National Railway Museum liveried HST now in plain tomato red as also worn with London North Eastern Railway before withdrawal from there, and 43238 in Virgin Trains East Coast livery, are seen passing Chesterfield with the NL04 set involving a rake of East Midlands Trains liveried mark III's working 1C15 from Leeds to London St Pancras. These red power cars replaced the East Midlands Trains liveried power cars of 43048 and 43049 on this set.
