East Midlands Railway 43102/43274 (15.05.2021)
The end of an era!
43102 in the Intercity Swallow livery and 43274 in the East Midlands Railway livery arrive at Nottingham for the final time with a service from Leeds before waiting time before then providing for the final HST departure out of Nottingham with the 09:45 service to London St Pancras. These MTU powered trains were the ones that replaced the VP185 HST sets while the class 180's replaced the six car HST sets. Now the class 360's have been introduced on the newly branded EMR Connect route, these sets are making way as a result, it meaning that the 222's and 180's have replaced all of the HST's on the Intercity route although those aren't set to last forever with East Midlands Railway either, with brand new class 803 bi-mode trains set to replace them.
