While an East Midlands Trains service from London St Pancras at 13:52 generally compromises of a four car Meridian, another four or five car variant comes out for the 14:12 service to make eight or nine coaches depending on the car numbers, perhaps on occasion two five car Merdians can be seen here to make ten cars but in this one, a four car Meridian and a five car Meridian are to be seen as 222101 arrives at Nottingham Station on its own with a terminating service from London St Pancras, after which 222017 arrives from Derby Etches Park to attach to 222101 after which the whole train is seen departing with the 14:12 service to London St Pancras. The nameplate of 222017 is also included here as well. Due to short platforms, only the front six coaches were intact at Beeston, while the front five coaches only were intact at Market Harborough, with all coaches intact at Kettering bar the rear coach.
